Disability Groups Forwards Recommendations for Election Reform

Eileen Giron Batres, Director of Acogipri, voting at her polling station in San Salvador.   The polling station was on the ground floor of a school.  However, assistance was required because she was not able to independently navigate a four-inch step.

  Jose Pilar Reyes, an Acogipri observer and the President of ALMES, a Salvadoran disability group, used a home movie camera to interview voters with disabilities and election officials.
   
El Salvador's Foreign Minister, the Hon. Maria Eugenia Brizuela de Avila, Esq., observing the elections athe Gymnasia Nacional, and speaking with several Acogipri observers.  In the background is Santiago Murray, an official with the Organization of American States.  
   
  An elderly voter being helped into her wheelchair outside the Feria Internacional in San Salvador.   The Feria Internacional is a vast fairground that accommodated tens of thousands of voters.  The entire site was wheelchair accessible.
