Burundi

General Right to Vote
Constitution:
(5 February 1992)
• Article 14 states: "All men are equal in dignity, law, and work without distinction of sex, origin, ethnicity, religion, or opinion. All men are equal before the law and receive the same protection without distinction."

Exclusion Based on Mental Disability
Constitution:
(5 February 1992)
• Article 29 states: "All Murundi have the right to participate directly or indirectly through representatives directing the State…under the reserve of legal conditions particular to age and capacity."
• Article 117 states: "The mandate of a representative ends in death, resignation, permanent incapacity, or more than a quarter of unjustified absences."
