Constitution
(1996)
- Article 2, section (3) states, “The vote is equal and secret; all citizens of at least twenty years may participate.”
- Article 6, section (1) states, “The President of the Republic shall be elected by a majority of the votes cast through direct, equal and secret universal suffrage.”
- Article 15, section (1) states, "The National Assembly shall comprise 180 (one hundred and eighty) members elected by direct and secret universal suffrage for a five-year term of office."
