Liechtenstein

General Right to Vote
Electoral Law:
(2001)
• Article 1, section 1 states, "In the affairs of state, those entitled to vote are all citizens who have reached their 18th year, and have lived for at least one month before the election in the place they normally reside."
• Article 3 states, "Participation in elections is a citizen's obligation."

Exclusion Based on Mental Disability
Electoral Law:
(2001)
• Article 2 states, "Persons are excluded from the right to vote:…(b) those under guardianship...; (d) those who have been officially ordered into an institution, for the duration of their hospitalization."

Off-Site Voting Alternatives
Electoral Law:
(2001)
• Article 8a, section (1) states, "Postal votes can be delivered in the event of…(a) sickness and frailty"
• Article 8b discusses the manner in which a postal vote must be requested, and the remainder of Article 8 deals with acceptance by post offices, etc.

Compulsory Vote Excusal

• Article 4, section 1 states, "Excuses for not participating at elections are…(b) illness or frailty, (c) grave illness or death in the family."
