General Right to
Vote Constitution
(1991 with 2001 amendments)
- Article 22 states, "Every citizen on reaching 18 years of age acquires the right to vote...Persons deprived of the right to practice their profession by a court verdict do not have the right to vote."
- Article 6, section (1) states, “Every citizen of the Republic of Macedonia who is 18 years old, has working capacity and has domicile in the constituency, municipality, i.e., in the City of Skopje, where the election takes place, shall have the right to vote.

- Article 2, section 1 states, “Every citizen of the Republic of Macedonia who has turned 18 years of age and has working capacity shall have a right to vote.”
- Article 6, section (1) states, “Every citizen of the Republic of Macedonia who is 18 years old, has working capacity and has domicile in the constituency, municipality, i.e., in the City of Skopje, where the election takes place, shall have the right to vote.
- Article 7, section (2) states, “Every citizen of the Republic of Macedonia shall have the right to be elected as a Member of Parliament, Member of Council and Mayor provided that he/she:...has working capacity.”
- Article 41, section (6) states, “Citizens who have been deprived of their working capacity with a final court decision shall not be registered in the Voters’ List.”

- Article 112 discusses “Voting of persons who are not able to vote by themselves.”
- Article 112, section (1) states, “Voter, who due to a physical disability or illiteracy is unable to vote in the manner defined by this Code, shall have the right to bring alogn a person to help him/her with voting.”
- Article 112, section (2) states, “If the voter referred to in paragraph (1) of this Article does not have a person to help him with the voting, the Electoral Board shall appoint another person from among the voters.”

- Article 111 discusses “Voting of the disabled and ill persons.”
- Article 111, section (1) states, “The voter who is unable to vote at the polling station (disabled or ill person, pursuant to the Instruction of the State Election Commission) but wants to vote, shall notify the Municipal Election Commission...thereof no later than 3 days prior to election day.”
- Article 111, section (3) states, “The Electoral Board shall enable the person referred to in paragraph (1) of this Article to vote in his/her home or the hospital he/she is in, one day prior to the elections in such a way that the secrecy of the voting is guaranteed.”
- Article 111, section (4) states, “The Electoral Board shall provide a special ballot box...which is taken empty to the home or hospital where the voter is.”
