General Right to Vote
Constitution:
(1978)
• Section 56, subsection (1) states, "Any person who is registered as an elector in any constituency shall be entitled to vote in such manner as may be prescribed at any election for that constituency…"

Exclusion Based on Mental Disability
Constitution:
(1978)
• Section 49, subsection (1) states: "No person shall be qualified for election as a Member of Parliament who… (d) is certified to be insane or otherwise adjudged to be of unsound mind under any law for the time being in force in Solomon Islands…"
• Section 55, subsection (3) states: "No person shall be entitled to be registered as an elector who… (b) is certified to be insane or otherwise adjudged to be of unsound mind under any law for the time being in force in Solomon Islands…"
