Article 2 states, "The Republic of Togo assures equality before
the law without distinction of origin, race, sex, social condition, or religion."
Article 5 states, "Suffrage is universal, equal and secret. The
conditions of electors are fixed before the law as all Togo nationals of both
sexes, age of 18 and who enjoy their civil and political rights."
